Army Rotc Scholarship Application

One of the most common problems faced by students is the financial implication of attaining a college degree. Thankfully, army ROTC scholarship application has become available to almost every high school student in the country. Many students fund their education by working in part-time jobs. While part-time jobs are indeed helpful, this approach can significantly affect a student’s educational experience and scholastic performance.

In view of this, the United States Army opened army ROTC scholarships to all college students. Through this program a student’s education is funded without having to work or sacrifice their college experience. Students who are on this program can focus on their education while

concurrently working towards their service in the Army as an officer.

Army ROTC scholarship application varies depending on the student applying. For senior high school students, they can apply for the full four-year scholarship program offered by Army. This scholarship will fund all expenses of the student until he or she graduates. However, students who are already in college are only eligible for the two-year or three-year ROTC scholarship. The programs offered by the army are intended to cover the total years of college needed to earn a college degree.

Unlike any other college grants or scholarships, this program entitles its scholars to full-tuition assistance. Aside from that, army ROTC scholarship also covers all other educational expenses such as textbooks, miscellaneous fees, school supplies and a monthly allowance. Army ROTC scholarship application, however, does not provide the student with lodging and boarding expenses. Students can choose to apply for this separate program instead of the full tuition scholarship. The monthly stipend received by cadets is based on whether it is their first, second or third year in college. Generally, the stipend starts at $300 per month for the first year reaching $500 per month in the cadet’s final year. This generous amount is very helpful in funding added expenses while attending school. An Army career explorer will definitely benefit from this program since they can finish a degree while going down the military route.

The minimum requirements in the Army ROTC scholarship are enrolment in a college as a full-time student, and participation in ROTC activities. If you want to study at college but you cannot afford the fees, an Army ROTC scholarship application may be the best solution for you. • Upon receipt of the interview letter, you can choose to have the interview at the nearest Army ROTC affiliated school or university, or at the school you intend to study.
• You will undergo a physical assessment test that involves body measurement and a physical fitness test. The Army Physical Fitness Test is composed of three parts: pushups, curl ups and one mile run. Prepare for these tests before going for the interview.
• The interviewer evaluates your performance in terms of points, with the highest possible score of 1000 points.  The Whole Person points are broken up into: a) 200 points for interview, b) 200 points on your scholastic, athletic and leadership achievements, c) 250 points on the SAT/ACT score and d) 350 points based on the evaluator’s qualifications.

After completing the interview, physical fitness test and the information in your Army ROTC scholarship application form is verified, your application is then evaluated by the scholarship board of the Army. Every month the board of Army officers review all applications. Applicants are then ranked in an order of merit list based on the cadet’s Whole Person score. It is possible for all applicants to qualify in the scholarship program. The number of scholarships to be awarded depends on the availability of funds. Applicants who fail to be included in the list of scholars for a particular scholarship board will automatically be re-evaluated for the next month. So, if your Army ROTC scholarship application is not selected, you need not worry. The scholarship board has a centralized roster of applicants, thus you always have a reasonable chance of getting a scholarship. Some students choose to apply with other programs such as the navy scholarship.

Applicants who passed the Army ROTC scholarship application process will be notified through mail by the Cadet Command. Successful applicants must respond as soon as possible and not later than a month of receiving the notice. Together with the acceptance form, you must also indicate which school you will attend and what field of study you would like to pursue. Send the acceptance form through mail, fax or email. Change of schools may be done not later than 1st of May. Make sure that you are admitted to your school or university of choice before completing the acceptance form.
